After a long day yesterday where she was up until 6am, she got up around 12pm and got ready to work at 1pm. I had mild fever which accelerated last night as I had to awake till 6am with her. We were having the Why game and it just didn't end. Today around 1:30 before starting my 2pm meetings, sat with her during my lunch and asked her if she could develop a quick n dirty java application using Spring Boot. She has a very textbook method where she watches every damn video available on youtube for days and then get her hands on the code.
Unfortunately the education system has always misguided her to by heart without understanding. Whenever she has asked Why, she has been discouraged more than encouraged.
I suggested her to use chatGPT to build her first application at 3pm and left to work. By 8pm when I got back home she was all smiles. The "Hello World" java application built using SprintBoot was working. We had a bet in the morning which meant if she could get this application written then I would remove the Cheating Tag from the Google group name. Long story short the batch was called cheating batch as she had copied DSA problems from internet before joining the program. She had broken the trust and to remind her the cheating batch was what her group was called. Today the title is going away as she has displayed integrity consistently for a long while. She is happy.
Mentor Kiran has taken the leverage and started SpringBoot lessons today. Given she has the confidence of building a sample application, there is lot of confidence in the air in the house. It's very heartening to see her not lose her motivation when pushed and coming back stronger. She will go places if she maintains this consistency.
Day 97 tomorrow
