One of our students had a tough childhood. Being one of the 4 daughters had to face the wrath of her uncles due to property divide among girl children. An year ago we could get her to one of her boot camps where she is thriving. Unfortunately her sister who was 12th pass, had to stay at home as a dropout. She wanted to pursue Agricultural BSc.
This also slipped our minds. One fine day we were reminded of this and asker her to get her sister to bangalore where she could study. Wasn't an easy task for her. Uncles didn't oblige initially. However slowly the persistence paid off. Did the problems end? No. Her college authorities refused to give a transfer certificate as they weren't happy with affiliation to JTD. This was the college in its beginning year 2015, got 20/200 students from JTD. How shameful? How could one institution spoil the career of of someone like her? Anyway I have taken a day off on 19th to go beg for the Transfer Certificate. Thankfully my 70+ Father and Mother obliged. Going with them will ensure the college authority behave more respectfully. In fact this is not new. There was an incident where one of us had to literally fall at the feet of a headmaster to not stop students from joining JTD programs. Our zeroth value is Student Seva and we are ready for any level of humiliation for the sake of our students. More updates on this on 19th June.
In the evening we had a discussion with Mr. Giridhar to provide advice of what college the sister must join. Thankfully he is teaching a Pharmacy College which is the first choice of her. We will get her admissions done early next week. I have seen her in her native and here in bangalore. The innocence of hope on her face could light a thousand lamps and gives enormous energy for volunteers to go work day in day out for more such girls.

The night was spent with enhancing the capstone projects. We wanted to add one delight feature in all the projects. We were able to add features such as visualisation of building toys, Image search for medicinal plants, Video call integration for a women counselling website and many more. It was 4am by the time everything finished.
Day 74 tomorrow.
"In a small house in Bangalore 15 girls from a town Palamaner, AP are training under the guidance of JTD to become full stack developers. They are staying together for 6 months for a gruelling 15 hours a day bootcamp. The series of posts cover their day to day stories". Day 73 of their journey
