Day 68 : Cockroach saves the day

Updated: Jul 4, 2023

At JTD FullStack boot camp we focus on 4 areas.

  1. Communication Skills - Every day video recordings and Group Discussions

  2. Problem Solving Skills - Every day DSA and Aptitude tests

  3. Technical Skills - The capstone project showcasing proof of full stack

  4. Behavioural Skills - Every day interviews

One of main challenges has been speaking english. Thankfully there is no challenge with listening which makes up most of the communication skills. However the speaking part is abysmal to way below average.

Today we were having a group discussion and no one spoke more than 2-3 sentences at once. Some of them were just saying yeah yeah like actor venkatesh in one of his movies.

We have mandated everyone speaks to each other in english. However the language one speaks is very transactional and not conversational.

Today during once such GDs, things weren't going forward. Thankfully a cockroach flew across to regular irritable reactions from her. I got an idea and right-away went and picked up the cockroach. And suggested one of them that if she stopped speaking, the cockroach would fly on her. And as you could see in the video, she kept on speaking on and on. And the demo has done the trick for GDs. Now we have to see how we could scale spoken English proficiency with the help of cockhroaches.

Good Bye for today. Will be back with more stories from Day 69.

"In a small house in Bangalore 15 girls from a town Palamaner, AP are training under the guidance of JTD to become full stack developers. They are staying together for 6 months for a gruelling 15 hours a day bootcamp. The series of posts cover their day to day stories". Day 68 of their journey
