The capstone projects are going in full swing. Only 1 of them is yet to finalise the idea due to the extensive research needed. Rest of them have started building their static pages and will complete it this week. Next 2 weeks will followed by Dynamic pages and Responsive pages.
One issue we see is extensive focus for Frontend and less focus on Backend. So the backend mentor Kiran is trying to make sure every capstone project has a equal balance of Frontend and Backend code. We do not want anyone to call themselves Frontend or Backend engineers. We would like her to call herself a FullStack developer. Of course after some time she could chose her preference with appropriate awareness.
We have in the past seen students wanting to do Frontend only because they were not aware of Backend technologies. If you are wondering what's our syllabus here it is.
If there is one thing consistent about Bangalore, it rains in the evening if the afternoons are hotter. And today was the same. Getting drenched in rain is not new to me. I enjoy rain even more when I cycle in the rain. I saw some of them and asked do you want to play in the rain. I sometimes trick the students and they were in confusion. After I asked couple more times, they obliged.
We went to the terrace and it was raining heavily. We have a coconut tree that oversees the terrace, and the tree remains block the water channel. So couple of inches of water stands on the terrace.
It started with getting drenched first. Then the water was splashed at each other. A mug came later and more splashing happened. Then a bucket entered the scene. Now bucket loads of water was poured on everyone.
Manju uncle as they call our driver is one of their favourite. He was not spared either. A few of them decided to hide. None of them were spared. What's more fun was girls who went back and took head-shower were dragged again into the waters. Initially there was some apprehension is splashing at me. After a while I was treated like one among them. In fact I was targeted and everyone started targeting me. Some of the splashes were quite hurtful, especially the ones throw at my ear. Then this was the first time she took that liberty.
And she danced as if no one is watching. Let the dance never stop. Not when there are people watching. Not when all her hair become grey. Never.
Wish we took more pictures. Now dancing in the rain is going to be our ritual.
Day 68 tomorrow.
