I felt a lot better today than yesterday. We have a learning session with a bunch of aspiring program managers. A bunch of geeks who dont mind waking up at 4am to learn. We are now discussing 7 essential behaviours of a leader and coevered a whopping 3 pages in 7 days. The literature is that layered and densed. I started towards Mysore today and ate idlies at Bidadi. Bidadi has many restauramts that serve Thatte (Plate) Idlis. Met a RSS Swayam sevak and exchanged many views about what's happening in the country. There is a vibe that all RSS swayam sevaks carry. Though I have not been actively working with RSS, what I was taught in shakas in my school days has stayed with me. It was one of those values which pulled me to come back to India. I bid adieu promising to meet him again and started towards Ramanagara. As I entered Ramanagara felt something unsual and stopped my bike. The back tire had fully worn off. Called Manju and he was in Ramamurthy Nagar which is 1 hour from my house in Vijayaanagar. Like a magician he arrived in Ramanagara within 2 hours. He went to my house took the car and the bike carrier. We went straight to Velo Studio in Indiranagar and got the tires changed. Guess what, I will need another set of tires in 1 month as they will wear out during this campaign. In the evening watched Premier Kabaddi League match with my father. Bengal crushed Patna.
Marriage is not going to stop me
You might have read the story of 2 sisters on Day 1. From the same village comes another strong lady who is full of spirit and hope. She was senior to the 2 sisters and was also the topper of her school while in 10th standard. However right after finishing her graduation she was married. She had a child after 1 year of marriage. Thankfully she has a supportive husband and even more supportive mother in law. I wish all of them like her got the support she could. While I was interviewing her I asked how will she manage with the child, she surprised me by saying taking care of her child for an year with many sleepless nights will come to her advantage during the bootcamp. I am very hopeful of her achieving great feats. And she will serve as an inspiration many of them like her who have given up hope. Atleast 50% of the girls who care career focussed are forcefully married against their will. Hope more such girls join our bootcamps in the coming years.
A new Story for tomorrow. Please support many such girls realise their dream of having a career and achieveing financial independence.
